Weekend Warrior

Last weekend Mike and my dad built Mike a new work bench for our garage. They measured and wrote a list of all the lumber they would need and headed to the home improvement store. They spent the entire day bulding with the help of Milo and occasionally Maddie. Once I got home, Mike and I sanded the bench and filled the holes with wood putty.

The next day, once the putty was dry, Mike did another sanding job and spray painted the legs and the big peg board, Mike received for his birthday, black.

I painted about three coats of tan on the rest of the bench. My dad stopped back by to help us put the peg board up before Mike's mole surgery the next day.

After one more coat of tan on top of the bench, she was done. It looks amazing in our garage. They did a great job!

HOT, HOT, HOT

This week started out with a very fussy Maddie. Everytime we put her down she would scream and only wanted to be held. She was not smiling much and even cried when Milo tried to make her smile, so something was definitely not right with our little one. Wednesday she started to feel very HOT and as the day progressed her fever got up to 102. Lots of sleeping and tylenol helped and by Friday she was noticably better. As she was getting cooler, so was our dryer! After drying the same load three times and they still weren't dry, I had Mike investigate. Turns out it is blowing cold air and not HOT. We have an apt for Tuesday to get it looked at. For now we are using a neighbor's dryer, which we are so thankful for! Thankfully our HOT week is now over!

Milo's Story

9 Months!

Maddie had her nine month checkup on Valentines Day. I can't believe how big she is getting. She weighed 21.12lbs and measured 28in. After her checkup, which included a shot, we took her to get routine blood work to check her iron levels. Thankfully, I brought daddy along on this trip, so he handled the shot in the Dr. office while I was outside with Milo and went back in the room with Maddie to get her blood drawn. Just hearing her cries from the waiting room, was almost too much to handle. Mike was my hero! Here is a pic of Maddie with her boo boo (as Milo called it) after her blood draw. She always has a smile on her face! Love this little girl!!!

BIG Boy!

Today, Milo has gotten through the entire day with just undies on (no pull-up) and NO accidents! This even included nap time! We did make one trip to the potty during nap time but no accidents in the bed! Yay! I am so incredibly happy and proud of my BIG Boy!

Cha, Cha, Cha, CHANGES!

Mike and I have been doing a lot of talking and evaluating of our life lately. As our family has grown these last few years so have our priorities. After a long talk tonight, we decided we need to change our priorites and focus on what is important in our life. We want to make God, each other and our family the forfront of our focus instead of the distractions we have put first. Soooo.... as a starting point we have both deactived our Facebook accounts! Gasp! Oh the horror! It is such a liberating yet uncomfortable feeling, one that I am enjoying! To take charge of your life instead of letting it control you is an exhilerting feeling. So here is to being a wife to one, mother of two, and a recovering facebook-aholic!
